Cornwall Coal

The Cornwall Coal Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cement Australia.  The company operates underground and open cut coal mines, and a coal washing and processing plant, with the main facilities located in NE Tasmania, and a mine in Southern Tasmania.

Cornwall Coal produces in excess of 400,000 tonnes of washed coal each year. The company supplies the Cement Australia Railton manufacturing operation and virtually all of Tasmania's general coal requirements. It employs over 70 people, and next to forestry and agriculture, represents one of the major industries in the Fingal Valley and North East Tasmania.
