Need to mix your own concrete for a large project?
On a clear non-porous surface shovel 3 equal portions of aggregate (screenings), 2 equal proportions of sand and 1 of cement, with water, until you achieve a workable consistency. Depending on the project being undertaken concrete has an initial set time of approx. two hours. If you are doing additional construction work on the concrete allow 24 hours drying time. Twenty bags of 20kg cement will generally be required for 1 cubic metre of concrete.
