Garden edges
Edges can be created in any garden around beds and lawns with Cement Australia Concrete Mix. The only tools you’ll need are timber boards and a trowel.
Step 1 Dig your trench
An ideal width for a concrete garden edge is 150mm. Dig a trench approx. 250mm wide to accommodate your timber boards. A depth of 50-75mm should be sufficient.
Step 2 Box in the Trench
Box in the trench so that the top of the boards is at the desired height of your border. Thoroughly soak the trench to prevent the soil drawing the water from the wet concrete.
Step 3 Mix Concrete & fill boxed area
Mix your concrete and shovel into the boxed area. Use a little at a time, tapping down with a spade as you go to settle the concrete and to dispel any trapped air. Fill to bring the concrete to the top of the frame. Smooth off the top with a trowel. Allow 24 hours and then remove the formwork, allowing 7 days to cure.
