Cement Australia's 2007 Report to EOWA

Diversity at Cement Australia

Cement Australia's Commitment to Equal Opportunity for Women

Cement Australia is committed to developing and valuing a gender diverse workforce and becoming an employer of choice for women.

This commitment is being led by our CEO Chris Leon and the Executive Management Group. It is shown at all levels of Cement Australia and fully supported by our Chairman and the Board.

Our deliberate and honest drive to be a dynamic, diverse and family friendly employer has been supported by the implementation of opportunities and conditions to attract more women into the industry.

Our focus on equal opportunity for women is part of our broader diversity program designed to recognise and promote the benefits of workplace diversity and ensure all employees are treated with fairness and respect. The Cement Australia team is convinced that embracing diversity is not just the right way to operate, it’s the right way to do business. The success we have achieved since the formation of a merged Cement Australia in 2003 would not have been possible without the diversity we enjoy in our business.

About Our 2008 Report to EOWA

Please find a copy of our recent 2008 submission to the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.  This document highlights the progress made in recognising and valuing diversity at Cement Australia, and covers:

  • our workplace profile;
  • issues relating to equal opportunities for women;
  • actions we have taken; and
  • the progress we have made to ensure women working for Cement Australia have equal access to career opportunities across the business.

Our thanks go to the many employees and business partners who have shared their experiences with Cement Australia as part of this report. The increasing recognition of the value of diversity at Cement Australia is in no small way due to the significant contributions they have made to our success
